Even now, decades later, the legend lives on--through campfire stories and barroom chinwaggers--of the infamous "Terror of '27," when no caravan went unguarded in the outlands, and just about the same number went unplundered. For no pile of money in the world could make a sane guard stand between Burnin' Beadie's flamethrowers and her haul of the day.
